HOUSTON: Erykah Badu plays DJ set at Scott Gertner’s on Valentine’s Day
Soul artist Erykah Badu (also known as DJ Lo Down Loretta Brown) will play a special three-hour DJ set dubbed “The Analog Love Show” on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14th at Scott Gertner’s at Houston Pavilions in Downtown Houston. Tickets start at $75. Doors open at 7pm. More deets here.

Legendary hip-hop DJ and producer Pete Rock and Brooklyn’s own DJ Center will bring the house down this weekend in BK. Part of Center’s monthly Sky High residency, Pete Rock will guest DJ at Brooklyn Terrace’s Indoor Sky Lounge, spinning classic Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, R&B, Latin and Reggae vibes. Food & Music Fest Hits Brooklyn’s Prospect Park in May

Superfly, the folks behind Bonnaroo and other major music fests are bringing The Great GoogaMooga, a food and music festival to Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on May 19 and 20. Being touted as “an amusement park of food and drink,” the vendor lineup includes Colicchio & Sons, Frankie’s Spuntino, Hill Country Barbecue, Momofoku Milk Bar, Red Rooster, Roberta’s and much, much more. There will be 75 food vendors in eight different pavilions, 35 brewers, 30 winemakers and 20 different local and national musicians, says Eater New York. The musical performances will spread evenly across both days, located in Prospect Park’s Nethermead Meadow. And get this: Tickets are free! Available for all on Thursday, March 15 via the official website. A food and music fest in Brooklyn, this is going to be mucho fun!

Mayer Hawthorne Spring 2012 Tour Dates
I’ve been trying to catch Mayer Hawthorne live for a minute now. But each time I find out he’s in New York or surrounding areas, it’s the day of the show and of course, tickets are sold out. So I’ll definitely be in the house this time! But if you have yet to buy Hawthorne’s latest LP How Do You Do, be sure to cop it, you won’t be disappointed.
