Day 6 of 29 Days: Color Me Badd, C.M.B. (1991)
C.M.B. (Giant Records) (1991)
Oklahoma-natives Color Me Badd were a pop quartet known for their urban appeal and double-platinum hit “I Wanna Sex You Up” (which also appeared on the New Jack Swing movie soundtrack starring Wesley Snipes). Using a Betty Wright sample, the song received tons of radio play. But the group members (Bryan Abrams, Sam Watters, Mark Calderon and Kevin Thornton) had other hits as well, like “All 4 Love” and my personal fave “Adore Mi Amor” — which put curly-haired Sam Watters in front as well. I was only 16-years old at the time, but boy did I love Sam’s ponytail.
